Taiwan-based cold chain IoT company Gocochain Co., Ltd. has entered into a strategic partnership with Cold Storage Japan Ltd., a leading Japanese manufacturer of mobile refrigerated and frozen containers. This partnership focuses on product distribution in the Japanese market. By integrating Gocochain’s cloud-based monitoring and data management solution into Cold Storage Japan’s container systems, the two companies aim to accelerate the digital transformation (DX) of the supply chain in Japan.
Cold Storage Japan’s flagship product, the “COLD STORAGE BOX,” is a mobile refrigerated and frozen container that operates on standard 100V household electricity and can be towed by a passenger vehicle. It is designed for a variety of applications, including outdoor events, food service, and temporary storage at commercial facilities. Through this collaboration, Gocochain’s CoTag temperature monitoring devices will be embedded into Cold Storage Japan’s solutions, enabling cloud-based temperature monitoring, abnormality alerts, automated report generation, and seamless API integration. The smart transformation of refrigerated containers will also extend to last-mile logistics, where temperature sensor tags combined with reusable cold packs will help ensure higher levels of safety and traceability in cold chain operations.
David Chien, Co-founder and CEO of Gocochain highlighted the potential impact:
“We are thrilled to integrate Gocochain’s data monitoring technology into Cold Storage Japan’s portable cold chain containers through this partnership. This collaboration not only enhances product smartness and differentiation by building on existing infrastructure but also adds significant value and strengthens competitiveness in the market. Moreover, it deepens our connection with the local Japanese market and reinforces our commitment to building long-term partnerships and a robust support framework.”
According to Daigo Goto, CEO of Cold Storage Japan:
“We are very pleased to introduce Gocochain’s easy-to-deploy remote temperature monitoring service into the Japanese market through this strategic partnership. This collaboration supports our mission to realize a distributed, next-generation cold chain not only in Japan but also across Southeast Asia. We believe the integration of CoTag brings new value and services to Japan’s rapidly growing cold chain market. It will contribute significantly to acquiring new customers, expanding the distribution of fresh food products, and promoting projects that improve overall logistics efficiency.”
Looking ahead, the two companies will deepen their collaboration across various sectors, including food logistics, life sciences, and retail, contributing to the DX transformation of cold logistics in the Japanese market.
